To stop myself from feeling I put my hard skin on a shell of protection as well as to protect you Right now you need a rock someone for support Not someone who's trying to love you and wants so much for your love in return Scared of being hurt need to protect scared to hope and dream that’s why I do as well I know that you know how to break my shell you know how to break the ice and bubble wrap that surrounds my heart as well I know its your illness impacting your feelings and what you feel But for me to be here for you the shell must be real I need to hold my hearts off and wait for you to be stable I need to wait for you to come back to me or to fall for me once more The shell feels right it will keep me safe as well as you Until your ready to be one again
